Hair loss is usually noticed during a shower bath or while brushing your hair and the sight of so many strands of hair getting dislodged from the scalp can be extremely disturbing. Thinning scalp hair is definitely a cause of concern since it may negatively impact your self-confidence, leading to stress.

How serious is TE hair loss?

Every type of hair loss need not culminate into baldness but one must find ways to arrest or slow down the process of hair loss by consulting a hair expert. If you are noticing hair fall or thinning due to telogen effluvium condition hair loss, you need to know that the condition is reversible and curable.
Our scalp hair is in different growth phases at any given time and there are few hair strands that are bound to be shed as a normal process of cell turnover. Telogen is a typical state of growth phase that is associated with resting as hair stop growing during this phase.

Tips for treatment

You can try keratin treatment for hair loss if it is associated with telogen effluvium. Here the resting phase is a bit more prolonged. Such abnormally prolonged resting phase can lead to thinning of scalp hair.

Since the resting phase of hair growth is not permanent, according to some hair experts, the condition need not be treated. However, treatment is required if telogen effluvium condition hair loss is caused due to use of some medicines or any other reason.

Some cosmetologists recommend the use of vitamins and other mineral supplements to encourage hair growth. A healthy and well-balanced diet is key to normal growth of hair. You may also approach your dietician for proper advice. Do not fall for fad diets which may lead to deficiency of vitamins and other essential nutrients in your body.
